Purge Tape, Backing Tape & Weld Prep Wipes
Purge tape seals the root gap so purge gas stays in the weld zone; backing tape supports the root where back purging isn’t practical. We supply four Aquasol products: EZ Zone purge tape with an adhesive-free center, EZ Tape fully coated aluminum purge tape, Fiback fiberglass weld backing tape, and EZ Wipes for cleaning before welding.

Frequently asked questions
What temperature can purge tape take?
EZ Zone and EZ Tape adhesive is rated to 500°F (260°C) and the aluminum foil to 1100°F (593°C). Apply the tape before preheat, since the adhesive may not bond to hot metal.
Purge tape or backing tape?
Purge tape holds the purge gas in; it doesn't support the weld pool. Fiback backing tape supports the root from behind and is used where back purging isn't part of the procedure.
